Pastoral Care and Wellbeing

hero 2

At Westerfield College, we are committed to supporting every aspect of a student’s development — academically, emotionally, and socially. Our comprehensive wellbeing framework ensures that each young person has access to qualified counsellors, mental health professionals, and pastoral mentors, providing individualised care and guidance when needed.

Through structured wellbeing sessions, workshops, and tailored support programmes, students learn effective strategies to manage stress, strengthen resilience, and maintain a healthy balance between study and personal life.

We also place great emphasis on fostering a strong sense of community and belonging. A wide range of clubs, mentorship opportunities, and open forums encourage connection, inclusion, and positive peer relationships. Whether students are navigating academic pressures, personal challenges, or adjusting to new surroundings, Westerfield provides a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment in which they can grow with confidence and purpose.

Nurturing the Whole Person
At Westerfield, we believe education is about more than academics — it’s about helping every child feel happy, confident, and supported. Our pastoral approach ensures that every student is known as an individual and cared for in a genuine, consistent way.

A Supportive Network
Each student has access to trained counsellors, a dedicated pastoral team, and caring boarding staff who provide daily guidance and reassurance. Whether it’s a quiet conversation, emotional support, or practical advice, help is always close by.

Wellbeing at the Heart of College Life
Wellbeing is woven into everything we do. Through mentoring, physical activity, mindfulness, and open communication, we help students build resilience, independence, and self-belief. Our goal is to prepare young people not just for exams — but for life.

In Partnership with Parents
We work closely with families to ensure students feel secure, valued, and confident as they grow. Regular communication, progress updates, and shared wellbeing goals mean parents can be fully involved in their child’s journey.
